City of S(e)ouls
The project "City of S(e)ouls" wants to investigate and describe, through photography, the range of souls and faces inside korean megacity Seoul. It's not only a metaphoric journey to South Korea, where I lived for one year, but also a real life experience. Korean society is a tangled knot where iper-modernism live with ancient tradition. The real challenge was to turn into images all of this. Generally I tried to create an exterior world that would be complementary to my interior world, since photography is not anymore perceived as a symptom of reality, but, on the contrary, as a creator of new realities. So the people in these pictures seems to damned souls who wander in a limbo looking for their redemption like korean young people looking for their balance between memory and future.
